Robert L. Himes, 61 of Clearfield, PA died Wednesday, June 10, 2008 at Mt. Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Clearfield, PA.
Born January 19, 1947 in DuBois,PA he was the son of late Walter and Dorothy E. (Guiher) Himes.
He was a member of the Community Baptist Church in Bloomington. He also had served in the U. S. Army and was a graduate of Curwensville Area High School.
He was employed by Penn State University, State College for 15 years in the food and Housing Department and was also a baker at the Bell Restaurant in Kylertown.
He is survived by his wife Brenda L. (Swatsworth) Himes whom he married May 26, 1973 at the Christ United Methodist Church in Clearfield, PA, one son David E. Himes at home. Also surviving, three sisters and a brother, Jane Laborde and her husband Jim, Patricia Laborde and her husband Bob both of Sykesville, PA, Ronald Himes of DuBois, PA and Marlene Himes-Gaborseck and her husband Andy of Coudersport, PA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers:Walter Himes and Leonard Himes.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. Clearfield, PA with Pastor Todd Hogue officiating. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Clearfield, PA.
Friends will received at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. and on Saturday from 12:00 P.M. until the hour of the services.
