Simon Hiatt, who was street commissioner in Emporia about 1890, died Monday afternoon at 5 o'clock at his home in Springfield, Mo. Funeral arrangements have not been made. Mr. Hiatt is survived by his widow, Mrs. Eliza Hiatt; three daughters, Miss Ola Hiatt and Miss Essie Hiatt, both of Emporia, and Mrs. V. F. Pember, of Washington; one son, C. E. Hiatt, formerly of Emporia and now of Washington; one sister, Mrs. Gulia Hinshaw, of Emporia, and one brother, Eli Hiatt, of Emporia.
