Mrs. Fred Mutchler Taken by Death

Mrs. Bernice B. Mutchler, 48, 2230 State Route 590, Burgoon, died Wednesday, April 12, 1972, at 1:00 P.M. in Fremont Memorial Hospital. She had been in failing health for 18 months.

Born May 7, 1923, in Seneca county, she was the daughter of Charles and May (Humes) Joseph. She was married November 1, 1941, to Fred W. Mutchler, Jr., who survives.

Also surviving are her parents of rural Green Springs; sons, Captain Robert Mutchler, Columbus; Steven R. and Michael J., both at home; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Susan) Rutherford, Fremont; three sisters, Mrs. Luella Hagen, Fostoria, and Mrs. Christine Habacker and Mrs. Lois Wise, both of rural Green Springs; three brothers, ralph Joseph, Old Fort; Oscar Joseph, Ann Arbor, and Lawrence Joseph, East Adams street, and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Charles A. Mutchler, and two brothers, Charles and Ned G. Joseph.

A lifelong resident of this area, Mrs. Mutchler was a member of Burgoon United Methodist Church and its Women's Society for Christian service. She had been employed as a licensed practical nurse at Fremont Memorial Hospital.

Rev. Calvin Wise conducted funeral servies at Eric C. Young funeral home last Saturday at 1:30 P.M. and interment was in Smith cemetery, Burgoon.
