Graveside services for Blanch O. Kent, 78, of Portales will be 3:00 P.M. Friday, June 13, 2008, in the Portales Cemetery with Rev. Walter Huber officiating.
Blanch O. Kent was born March 25, 1930, in Portales, NM to Maude and Orlando Lang, and died Friday, June 6, 2008, at her home. She was raised in Portales, and on May 11, 1950, she was married to James (Ed) Kent. To this union were born 4 children, of whom she was very proud. Blanch worked as a custodian at ENMU for many years. She loved to do crafts, read books and work crossword puzzles. She loved her family and was loved in return and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Nan Kent of, OK and Phillip and Kelly Kent of, Fl; a daughter, Beth White of NM; 5 grandchildren, James Michael Kent of, AR, Corey Kent of OK, Ashley Baca Colston of TX, Keshia White of NM, and Alex Kent of FL; 3 great-grandchildren, Xavier, Malachi and Isabella Colston; a brother, Oren Lang of, NM and a sister, Essie Bell of NM.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Kent on December 14, 1986, and one son, Joe Shelton Kent in 1991; her mother and father; 2 sisters, Eunice Widmier in 1999 and Clara Talley in 2004, as well as by her younger brother, Barry Lang who died as an infant.
