Theodore "Ted" J. Rademacher, Sr. Westphalia Age 81, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2013. He was born on February 18, 1932 in Westphalia, MI the son of Simon J. and Rose (Fandel) Rademacher. Mr. Rademacher was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and a 60 year member of the Carpenter's Local #1004. Ted was an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting, playing cards, farming and gardening, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He married Diane Belen on February 13, 1954, and together they shared nearly 60 years of marriage. Preceding him in death were his parents; 5 siblings. Surviving are his wife, Diane "Bonnie" Rademacher; children, Kay (Julie) Rademacher, Kim (Jim) Cotter, Ted (Jann) Rademacher Jr., Ken (Renate) Rademacher, Steve (Maria) Rademacher, Dave (Jill) Rademacher, Kevin (Lori) Rademacher, Lynda (Steve) Fox, and Jamie (Ken) Kupris; 23 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; siblings, Esther Brown, Don Rademacher, and Ginny Simon; sister-in-law, Alicia Rademacher; many loving nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 2, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Westphalia, with Rev. Mathias Thelen presiding. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Westphalia. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the St. Mary's Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia Street, Westphalia. Rosaries will be prayed at 3 and 7 p.m. Tuesday, and 3 p.m. Wednesday, and a Scriptural Wake Service held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. All memorial contributions in his honor will be used to support St. Mary's Elementary School. This is the school where all 9 of his children and many grandchildren continue to attend. Send to: PO.
