Born in Cadiz, Harrison County, Ohio on September 10, 1875, the son of Johannes "John" Zurcher and Helen Hogan Zurcher.

His family came to Oregon in 1884.

He married Tillie Best in 1901 in Wallowa County, Oregon.

Charlie and Tillie had the following children:

1 - Nellie Jacqueline
2 - John B. (died as an infant)
3 - Charles Marion

He worked as a bookkeeper in the M. & M. store in Enterprise, Oregon for 10 years. In 1900 he was elected as County Clerk on the Republican ticket.

He was a affiliated with the Masons with the Eastern Star, Wallowa Valley Chapter No. 50, and with the Maccabees, Joseph Tent, No. 35.

He died September 22, 1952 in Wallowa County, Oregon.
