Carlo B. Cornett, 79, a former long-time Malin resident, died in Pasco, Wash., on Nov. 10, 1982.

Mr. Cornett was born to William and Nancy Cornett in Kentucky.

He was raised and educated in Burning Springs and graduated from Barber College in Ohio.

He farmed in Kentucky and, for nine years, was a partner in a Standard Oil Co. distributorship in Manchester, Ky.

Mr. Cornett was married to Bessie York on Dec. 24, 1930.

He farmed in Malin from 1943 until he retired in 1970.

He joined the Baptist Church in Burning Springs in 1924. HE also was a memberof the Manchester Masonic Lodge No. 794 A.F. & A.M., the Hillah Shrine and the Klamath Falls Shriners. He was a former member of the Malin Water Board and the Ancient Mariners Club, which is affiliated with the Malin Community Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife Bessie of Pasco; son, James of Hermiston, daughter Barbara Ann Fain of Pasco; eight granddaughters; six great-grandchildren.

Mr. Cornett was preceded in death by five brothers, including Marshall, who was president of the Oregon Senate in 1947.
