Mr. Sims, a native of Jackson township and a resident of the Scotland community his entire life, was born January 7, 1849, the son of Alexander and Eliza Doty Sims. He was united in marriage with Miss Julia Haller September 22, 1870.
For sometime Mr. Sims had resided with a son, Harry Sims of Antioch. He was a lifelong member of the Sugar Creek Presbyterian church. His entire life had been devoted to farming. From the vocation he retired a number of years ago.
Survivors are two sons, Harry Sims of Antioch, and William A. Sims of Phoenix, Arizona; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife; two sons, John and Cecil and a daughter, Mrs. Ethel E. Richards.
