Winnie B. Carlisle, 95, was born January 23, 1916 in Sylvarena , MS and went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Jasper County Nursing Home in Bay Springs, Ms. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday August 27, 2011, at MT Pleasant Baptist Church in Sylvarena, Ms. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery . Dr. Frank Harmon will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs, MS is in charge of arrangements. 601-764-2181.Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2011 from 1:00-3:00 P.M at MT Pleasant Baptist Church. She was a homemaker who, through the years, sought to serve her Lord Jesus by doing for others. Her home was always open to others. She was a clown and loved to make people laugh and often visited hospitals and nursing homes to spread joy. She began a card ministry from her home to reach out to others during their times of need, joys and sorrows.

She was a member of Arlington Heights Baptist Church in Pascagoula, MS for the past 16 years, while living with her son, Ben and his family.She was preceded in death by her husband John Calvert(Jack)Carlisle

Father James Oliver Johnson,Mother Mettie Anding Johnson,Brothers Bennie Johnson and Dewitt Johnson

Sisters Ruby Nell Johnson, Faye Lee and Lucrecia Moore

Survivors Include: Sons Joe Carl(Sally)Carlisle of Pearl, MS.James Milton(Betty)Carlisle of Poplarville, MS,Bennie Robert(Etta)Carlisle of Pascagoula, MS,Billy Wayne(Joy)Carlisle of Bay Springs, MS.Sister Ida Mae Brown of the Ted community.12 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren, 2great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews other relatives and friends.
