Laurel Heights Church Leader Sam T. Fox Dies

Sam T. Fox, 85 year old resident of Laurel Heights and a church leader, died
at 4:20 a.m. Thursday (today) in a hospital here which he entered Tuesday of
this week.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Laurel Heights Baptist
Church.

Mr. Fox retired from his farm in the Zion Hill Community in the middle 1940s
and moved to Laurel Heights.

He has served as a deacon of that church since about a year after it was
founded on Feb. 4, 1945.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Fox; a brother, J. C. Fox, Alexandria;
five sisters, Mrs. Henry Stroud, Sikes; Mrs. Ada Smith, Winnfield; Mrs. Lena
Adams, Dodson; Mrs. G. W. Price, Dodson; and Mrs. Etha Peppers, Alexandria;
and a daughter, Mrs. Johnny Wilkins, California.

His body will remain at Southern Funeral Home here until the services.

Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery.

Rev. C. C. Martin, pastor of the Laurel Heights Baptist Church, will conduct
the service.

Elzie Adams, Justin Hammonds, Dr. W. W. Peters, Moise L. Peters, Stewart
Peters, and P. K. Smith will serve as pallbearers.

Deacons of the Laurel Heights Baptist Church will serve as honorary
pallbearers.
