Opal Mae Kinney-Stange, 85, of Wenatchee, passed away November 19, 2006, in Wenatchee.

Opal was born in Bucklin, MO to George & Arvilla Nickerson. After relocating in Petersburg, NE, Opal grew up with 8 brothers and sisters, Lillian, Bud, E.J., Les, and Oscar who preceded her in death and survived by Maxine and twins, Frank and Joanne.

She married Melvin Kinney in 1938, in Albion, NE, then moved to the Northwest in 1940, and had 3 daughters, Patty (Bruce) Lund of East Wenatchee, Peggy Magnuson of Israel, and Polly (John) Fields of Bonney Lake, WA; grandchildren are Dewain (Tami) Lund, Ron (Roxy) Lund, Cassie Johnson, Cameron (Lisa) Dasso, Laurie (Todd) Lord, Colin Magnuson, Matt (Chere') Fields, Jodi Fields, Jack (Angie) Fields, Mike (Kim) Fields, Titus Fields, Joshua (Michelle) Fields. Opal also had 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 3 husbands, Melvin Kinney, Dick Leer, and Charles S. Stange (1918-2000); also grandson, Larry Fields.

Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 25, 2006, at the Wenatchee City Cemetery. Memorial Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. at the Celebration Lutheran Church, 801 8th St. N.E., in East Wenatchee. Viewing will be from 3-7 p.m. Friday, November 24, 2006, at Betts Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Celebration Lutheran Church building fund. Opal Mae Kinney-Stange is in the care of Betts Funeral Service.
