Alma "Lucille" Harman, 89, a 39 year resident of Wenatchee, went to be with Jesus, December 13, 2006, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 4, 1917, to Frank A. and Ruth Lyon in Fredonia, KS. She was raised and educated in Kansas. She married Allen R. Harman on January 8, 1939, and was married to him for 64 years. They lived in Kansas until 1946, then moved to Entiat, Benton City and Kennewick, until their oldest three children graduated, then Selah, Quincy, Wenatchee, Malott and back to Wenatchee where they retired, living in the same house for 39 years. She took great pride in being a loving wife, mother of 5 and grandmother. She was a Sunday School teacher, a missionary president, she rolled bandages for foreign fields and folded bulletins for the church with the Thursday Ladies. She spent many hours on the phone encouraging her friends and family and remembering everyone in daily prayer twice a day. If she knew you, she would pray for you. During her last few months of life, she said her prayer list was getting longer and longer. The last 3-1/2 months she spent at her new apartment in Cashmere at Epledalen Assisted Living where she was an encouragement to one and all.

She is survived by a son, Bob Harman and wife, Shirley of Indianapolis, IN, daughters, Janet Smith and husband, Lowell of Wenatchee, JoAnn Smith and husband, Wendell of Pomeroy, WA and Sherry Hamilton and husband, Tom of Malaga; four sisters, Ruth Scott of Fredonia, KS, Ellamae Branson of Topeka, KS, Mildred Boster of Berrington, KS and Wilma Kebert of Wichita, KS; four brothers, Kenneth Lyon of Olathe, KS, Lewis Lyon of Howard, KS, Garrold Lyon and Frank Lyon of Benton City; 11 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Karen, Brenda, Barbara, Cynthia, Monica, Dean, Loretta, Ryan, Michael and Stefanie; and two step-grandchildren, Jacki and Heather; and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen; her parents; two sons; two brothers; and two sisters. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Wenatchee and also attended the Bible Missionary in Quincy, when physically able. During the last 3-1/2 months she attended the Dryden Community Church in Dryden.

A Memorial Service will be held Monday, December 18, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Telford's Chapel of the Valley with pastor Gary Englert officiating. A Private Interment will be held at the Wenatchee Cemetery. The casket will remain closed at all times. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dryden Community Church.
