RUBY MAE LANGDON MORRIS, 86, of Duncan, Okla., died Friday, June 6, 2008, in Duncan.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Faith Temple Church, with the Rev. Wayne Morrow and the Rev. David Morrow officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens under direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.
Ruby was born Nov. 10, 1921, in Quay, to Calvin and Ruth Looney Langdon. She was a member of Faith Temple Church. She was active in TOPS and KOPS for 40 years, and was recognized numerous times for "Best Pie Maker" and "Best of Show" for her pies at the county fair. Her award-winning pies helped raise money for her church.
On June 20, 1942, Ruby married William Otto Morris in Seminole. He preceded her in death on Nov. 11, 1996. Together with her husband, in 1959, they opened their first "Morris' Dairy Lane" in Fox. In 1961, they opened a new Dairy Lane in Temple. And in 1962, they opened one in Meridian.
In 1972, they opened their Duncan location on South 13th, which operated until 1975. They also owned and managed many residential properties in the Duncan area.
Ruby is survived by two sons, Bill Morris and wife Madeline of Juneau, Alaska, and Gene Morris and wife Donna of Lawton; a daughter, Mary Morrow and husband David of Duncan; three brothers, C.J. Langdon of Orangevale, Calif., Charles Langdon of Arkansas, and Donnie Langdon of Lemoore, Calif.; a sister, Dorothy Baker of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Elizabeth Langdon and Wanda Paty; and a brother, Robert Langdon.
Bearers will be the men of Faith Temple Church.
Honorary bearers are C.J. Langdon, Charles Langdon, Donnie Langdon, Jerry Langdon, Cowboy Langdon, Carl Morris, Brian Morris and Brian Morris Jr.
