Death of Gladys Crocker


Gladys Crocker, daughter of Albert Crocker, died Friday morning 27 Jun. Death was from tuberculosis, after illness of ten months duration. She was in her 13th year, her age being 12 year, 6 months, 22 days. The funeral services were held at the home on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock and were conducted by Rev E L Kechley, of the Christian church. There was large attendance of friends and there were many floral offerings. The singing at the funeral was by Mrs Guy Walling, Miss Luzetta McKnight and Messrs Guy Walling and D E Smith. The pall-bearers were girls, classmates of Gladys in the Methodist Sunday school, Ruth Howard, Olive Johnson, Sarah Kilgore, Charlotte Mitchell, Leta Whitmore and Vera Whitmore. Interment was in the David City Cemetery.


Card of Thanks - We extend our heartfelt thanks to the friends and neighbors who were so kind during the illness and at time of the funeral of Gladys Crocker, also to the Modern Woodmen for flowers and to the brickyard boys who were so kind.

PASSING OF GLADYS CROCKER


Gladys Crocker was born3 Dec 1900 and died 27 Jun, after an illness of consumption since last Sep. The funeral services were held at 2 o'clock at the residence in North David, and were conducted by Rev E L Kechley, pastor of the Christian church. The pallbearers were four little girls from her Sunday School class at the Methodist church. They were : Charlotte Mitchel, Olive Johnson, Aleida and Vera Whitmore.She was the 2nd daughter of mr Albert Crocker. Her mother preceded her by four years ago, succumbing to the same disease.Gladys leaves a host o relatives and little friends.

Conflict of cause of death, one obit says Tuberculosis and the other says consumption like her mother. Her mother's obituary says Tuberculosis which is what I am going with. Consumption is a general cover when they didn't know what it was.
