Irvin Joseph Bourgeois Sr., 84, a native and resident of Donner, died at 12:45 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, 2007.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. today at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Chachoula, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Mercedes Hebert Bourgeois; three sons, Ray and wife, Beverly "Weesa," Randy and Irvin Jr. and wife, Stacy Bourgeois; three daughters, Patricia and husband, Glynn "Hobo" Braud, Kate and husband, Guy Bergeron, and Connie and husband, Hurley Pitre; two brothers, Emile and Emilca Bourgeois; two sisters, Florence LeRay and Augustine Gaspard; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-
grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Aurlien and Alice Hebert Bourgeois; two brothers, Abby and Clifford Bourgeois; and three sisters, Anita Benoit, Louise
LeBlanc and Aline Ayo.

He was retired from Texaco with 38 years of service and was a member of the VFW Post No. 5097 in Thibodaux.

Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
