Lloyd L. Myers

HANOVER - Lloyd L. Myers, 94, entered into God's eternal care at 3 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2007, at Hanover Hospital. He was the loving husband of Romaine Dubs Myers, who died June 19, 2004, and Anna Gotwalt Myers, who died April 6, 1982.
Born in Hanover, on January 15, 1913, he was the son of the late George L. and Joanna H. Wehrly Myers.
Lloyd retired from Hanover Shoe in 1978 after 35 years of service. He then went to work at Cremer Florist for 12 years.
He was an active and faithful member of St. Paul's (Dubs) United Church of Christ where he had been a member of the Golden Age Sunday School Class, a former member of the choir, taught Sunday School, and served on the social visitation committee for many years.
Lloyd was also a member of the Hanover Exchange Club and received the club's Golden Deed Award in 1996. He was a member of the York County Firemen's Association, a life member of the Grangeville Fire Co., and a former Red Cross Volunteer.
He will be sadly missed by his step-daughter, Betty B. Cool and husband, Edward of Hanover; two step-granddaughters, Donna Wolfe and husband, Douglas, and Sherry Meckley and husband, Jeffrey; and five great grandsons, Ryan Wolfe, Andy Wolfe, and Thomas, Jeremy, and Justin Meckley.
A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2007, at St. Paul's (Dubs) United Church of Christ, 1958 Dubs Church Road, Hanover. Viewings will be Thursday evening 6 to 8 p.m. at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover, and Friday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery. The Rev. Earl Marks will officiate with Lloyd's nephew, the Rev. Carroll Luckenbaugh, assisting.
