Ruth Emma Buxton, 95, died at home, on the family farm, on Friday, Jan 19, 2013 of natural causes. She was born March 10, 1917, in Spanish Fork, Utah, to James Clayton Beck and Elizabeth Robena McKell Beck and grew up from the age of 2 in Burley, Idaho. She and Sumner L. "Bill" Buxton were married in 1935, and lived the past 60 years on their Caldwell farm. Ruth was dedicated 110% to her family. Her grandchildren loved spending time at the farm with their grandparents. There, they learned how to ride horses, drive the tractor and cars, cook, irrigate and garden. The Buxton farm was an oasis for their grandchildren. Ruth always had sound advice about a large variety of topics, from home health remedies and gardening, and mending clothes and broken hearts. Ruth was also a dedicated wife and took great care of her husband, Bill.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Sumner L. "Bill" Buxton in 2004; her parents; daughter-in-law, Ina Mae Ivie Buxton; sister Louisa Beck Anderson, Rupert; brothers: William Beck, Weldon Beck, Frank Beck, Grant Beck all of Burley; John Melvin Beck, Nyssa, Oregon, and Robert Rigtrip, Salt Lake City, Utah.
Ruth is survived by son Richard Buxton and wife, Marilyn, Boise; son James C. Buxton, Caldwell; daughter Karen McGinnis, and husband Terry, Ontario; Grandchildren Jon McGinnis, Seattle; Teresa Colton and husband, George, Nampa; Susan Buxton and husband, Grant Walden, Boise; Carolyn Bridges and husband, Dan of Atlanta, Georgia; Bradley Buxton and wife, Ann, San Pedro, California; Kim Richards and husband, Jeff, Derry, New Hampshire; Rich Buxton and wife, Juliette, Herbeys, France; and, Alyssa Linder and husband, Doran, Gardner, Kansas; 20 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren, and many cherished nieces and nephews.
The family thanks Ruth's granddaughter, Teresa Colton, and all of her other dedicated care givers, especially Betty Rees and Peggy Hopper for their commitment and care of Ruth for the past year. Dana Hawkins of Family Home Health and Hospice also made Ruth's life much easier over the last several months. Accolades are also due to the Relief Society and Home Teachers of the Caldwell 15th Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for their visits. Ruth always looked forward to seeing them and hearing of the current church news.
