Sister Agnes Clare was the seventh child of Joseph Frank and Mary Theresa Schweiss Baltz and was named Mary Theresa Baltz. She was baptized at the Church of the Assumption on August 28, 1898 by Fr. Henry A. Ottke. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of St. Francis and took her first profession of vows on August 12, 1922 and her final profession as a Sister of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate on August 12, 1925. For the next fifty years Sr. Agnes Clare taught at schools in Ohio, Illinois and Alabama. She retired in 1975.
