Betty E. Ennis, 74, of Peoria passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born on July 21, 1933, in Peoria, the daughter of Wilbur and Mae O. Eveland Phillips. She was raised by her stepfather, William Brandt, and her mother, Mae, in Peoria. She married Marvin E. Ennis on April 7, 1978, in Pekin.

Surviving are her husband; one son, William E. Sholtz (Trudy) of Peoria; one stepson, Marvin E. Ennis Jr. (Linda) of East Peoria; and one stepdaughter, Kay Ann Ennis of Mount Pleasant, Iowa. Also surviving are two brothers, Harry Phillips of East Peoria and Wilbur Dean Phillips of Montana.

She was preceded in death by one sister.

A homemaker, she also worked for Methodist Medical Center for 25 years, last working in central supply, before retiring in 1991.

At Betty's request, cremation rites have been accorded and no services are scheduled. Her remains will be interred in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria at a later date.
