Mr. George Hamilton Ford, Sr., age 101, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2020 at the Floyd E. Tutt Fann State Veterans Home. Mr. Ford was born on June 23, 1918 in Saluda, SC, to Walter Ford and Pauline Bridges Ford.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Georgia Annie Scoggins Ford and daughter, Ann Rooks.
Mr. Ford is survived by his daughters, Dorothy Langley of Edgefield, SC, and Barbara Clanton of Madison, AL; sons, George H. Ford, Jr. of Athens, AL, Tommy Ford of Clarksville, AR, and David Ford of Winder, GA; 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Ford was a member of the Sardis Springs Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral service for Mr. Ford will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 24, 2020 at the Sardis Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Tim Kennum officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Sardis Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers are his grandsons, George Daniel Ford, James H. Ford, Blaine Ford, Sam Rooks, Ryan Ford and Danny Langley.
