Athens, AL - Funeral for Arnold Dorning, 71, of Athens was to be today at 1 p.m. at the Sardis Springs Baptist Church with burial in the adjoining cemetery with McConnell Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Dorning died Wednesday, January 22, 2003, at the Huntsville Hospital. He was born November 13, 1931, in Limestone County to Ed Dorning and Mattie Carroll Dorning.
He was a member and deacon of the Sardis Springs Baptist Church and a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He retired as manager of the Limestone County Water Authority.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Ruth Zirbel Dorning; two daughters, Patsy Sims and Teresa Chaney, both of Athens; one brother, Phillip Dorning of Athens; one sister, Lila Evans of Athens; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
