MARIAN AND JOHN LUNDY - TITUSVILLE

Marian E. Lundy was a dedicated mother and volunteer. Her own children volunteered her for many projects and trips, but she loved all children.

She taught Sunday School at Trinity Luther an Church, where she was a member for forty-five years, and served Pinewood Elementary School, Madison Middle School, and Astronaut High School as a clinic lady for many years. She was homework-helper, pulling all-nighters as necessary to help complete many a project, outfit, or costume.

She made her familys house a home no matter where they were living, partnering husband John as his career unfolded. No one went hungry at her table: her red velvet cake and Christmas cookies attained the status of legend among family and friends alike.

She enjoyed animals and taught her children and grandchildren to love them, too. Friendships were a tremendous part of Marians world: she made friends easily and kept them long.

An avid and adventurous reader, she collected and shared works of many genres. Marian loved to travel, and visited Germany, Italy, England, Scotland, Canada and many places here in the United States, usually in the company of one or more of her children.

She was an excellent seamstress and often modeled her creations for various charitable causes.

She was a beautiful woman.

John H. Lundy passed away Monday, June 25, 2007 and Marian E. Lundy passed away Sunday, April 22, 2007.

John H. Lundy graduated from Milton High School in 1942 and enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps, serving as an aircraft engine mechanic and armament specialist. After the end of World War II he met and married the lovely Marian E. Allen and enrolled in the University of Florida, graduating with a Bachelor of Aeronautics Engineering degree.

Mr. Lundy worked in his specialty as an aircraft instrument design Engineer beginning in the Climatic Hanger at Eglin AFB for the USAF and later with Bendix aircraft in South Bend, IN where he helped design the F100 fighters instrument package, and invented numerous Bendix patents for instrumentation.

Mr. Lundy was hired by the Convair Aeronautics Division and returned to Florida, working at Cape Canaveral designing instrumentation for the early missile test program. Later he moved into the developmental stages of the Snark, Bomark, Redstone and Thor Rockets and eventually was moved to Omaha and Lincoln, NE to build silos and install Atlas missiles for Convair, ending as Project Supervisor for a multi-silo complex.

Hired by Boeing Aeronautics as an engineer on the Saturn 5/Apollo moon rocket program, Mr. Lundy returned to the Cape Canaveral area, living in the Titusville area until they passed in 2007.

During the Apollo years, Mr. Lundy obtained his Florida contractors license and began building custom homes in his spare time starting his own business called Saturn Builders of Brevard. At the conclusion of the Apollo Program, John retired from Boeing at the position of B-team test conductor and ramped up his home construction business to full time, building many quality homes, churches and other structures in Brevard and Volusia Counties; he made exquisite toys.

John and Marian passed within a few weeks of each other, and are survived by Johns brother Herb; their children, Linda, John, Kathy and Amy, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A memorial will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Allentown at 3 p.m., on Wednesday June 27th. A short memorial will be included in the regular service at Trinity Lutheran Church in Titusville, on Sunday July 1st.
