Tola Wattenbarger Melton, 88, of Niota, died Sunday morning, July 21, 2002, at Woods Memorial Hospital in Etowah.

A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was a daughter of the late Walter A. and Mary Lou Knox Burn. She owned and operated the Tol Mar Trailer Park and Tola's Drive Inn for 44 years. She was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by her sister, Sephie Burn Sellers on May 17, 2002.

Survivors include two daughters, Martha J. Peterson of Lookout Mountain and Mary J. Wattenbarger of Athens; one sister, Lydia Sexton of Martin, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Ogle Wattenbarger and the Rev. Ben Roberson officiating. Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Niota Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Yale Knox, Gary Long, Jimmy Atkins, Bill Sexton, Jeff Curtis and Noel Knox.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
