Married February 17, 1873 in the home of her parents by the Rev. R.H. Caldwell.
Mrs. Nannie Harmon Williams, the much beloved wife of Mr. J. B. Williams died at the home in Perryville this morning at 8 o'clock, her death followed a lingering illness of heart trouble and other complications. The passing of Mrs. Williams into the great beyond removes from our neighbor town one of the very best of Earth. "Tis doubtful if there was ever a more patient sufferer or one more unselfish."
She was a devoted member of the Methodist Church and had been since childhood. She was a woman with a big and tender heart, for years and years she had realized that her mission on Earth was to do good and with this deep down in her heart, when in health, she was untiring in her service of the Master, this was her daily mission and the World is certainly better by her life, the imprint of which will live on and on.
The taking of this good woman is a crushing blow to the surviving members of her family, especially to the aged husband, whose devotion all these years has been so tender, so unstinted, his cup of sorrow is filled to overflowing.
In addition to the husband, Mrs. Williams is survived by two sons, Mr. J. Briscoe Williams and Mr. W. Z. Williams of this city, Mrs. John Godbey, of Kansas, Mrs. W. O. Powell and Mrs. Kate Parks of Perryville.
The Messenger joins the legion of friends of the family in extending the most sincere sympathy in these hours of intense sorrow.
