Kentucky Advocate (Danville, KY) Fr. May 30, 1902 pg 5
Mitchellsburg
It is our painful duty to chronicle the death of one of our highest esteemed citizens, Mr. John G. Wade, who died at his home near here, at 3 a.m. May 29th. The funeral took place the following day at the Baptist Church in Perryville, conducted by Rev. Adkins, assisted by Rev. Penn, after which the remains were quietly laid to rest in the Perryville Cemetery. The deceased was 68 years of age and had been a consistent member of the Baptist Church for years and died with the full assurance of life beyond the grave. To know him was to love him. Besides his wife, five children survive him: Robert Wade of Lexington, Mrs. M.F. Adams, Harrington, Washington, Mrs. S. G. Harberson, Lawrenceburg Miss Rose and Joseph of this place. Our deepest sympathy is extended to them in their sad loss.
