Noah Bales, 82, of 735 Ray Street, died at 12:30 am today at the St. Joseph Hospital.
He was born May 17, 1875 in Davis County the son of David and Mahala Lang Bales. He had farmed in Davis County for many years prior to moving to Ottumwa 24 years ago.
He was a member of the Floris Methodist Church.
He was married May 1, 1901 to Carrie Christy who died January 3, 1955.
Five children survive, Leo and Cleo Bales, Mrs. Goldie Millhouse, Mrs. Bernice Dudley, and Mrs. Fae Kelly all of Ottumwa. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and seven great - grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Lacey, who died in 1945; one daughter, Reva who died in 1956; a grandson and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm Saturday at the Johnson Funeral Chapel in charge of the Reverand W B Friend, pastor of the Pentacostal of God. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
