Death of Mother and Son.

Mrs. Isabel Presley, wife of Mr. J. C. Presley of Goose Creek township, died at the home of her son, Mr. Z. A. Presley of Indian Trail, of pneumonia, where she had gone to nurse her son, Grover, who, while attending school there, was taken with typhoid pneumonia. Mrs. Presley was 56 years old and her son 17. She was a member of the Baptist church and a devoted christian woman. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. O. I. Hinson. Our correspondent at Indian Trail sends the following account:

"Death is sad at all times, but when the grim reaper comes and cuts down a mother and son in one week, our hearts are especially touched with sympathy.

"Mrs. Isabel Presley, wife of J. C. Presley of near Unionville, died on last Monday; and on Thursday, a son, Cleveland Presley, died of typhoid pneumonia. Cleveland had come to Indian Trail to stay with his brother and go to shool and was stricken with the fatal disease. The patient, loving mother came to stay with him during his illness; thinking not of self, to nurse her boy to health was her only desire. She gave her life for her children. We cannot understand all of God's ways; why he should cut a young man down in the very bloom of young manhood and take a dear, loving mother, is more than we can understand. But all is best.

"Cleveland was so patient during his illness, never a murmur from him. He was so anxious about his mother and would often ask, 'How is mother?' God has removed the vale and two souls have gone to rest. Cleveland won the love of both teachers and students during his short stay with us. He is survived by a father, five brothers and one sister. We extend our sympathy to the bereaved loved ones and friends."
