Lydia Ann Shaw Duggins, the 3rd of the 8 known children of Henry Clinton Shaw and Elizabeth "Betsy" Cook of Grayson County, Kentucky, was born there on November 29, 1849. Her paternal grandparents were William Hollis Shaw and Sarah Bozorth (earlier spelling of Bozarth). Her paternal great grandparents were Bonham Shaw and Mary Elliott and Jonathan Bozorth and Mary Hargis, who were living in what was Kentucky County, Virginia in 1785. The area where they lived became Grayson County, Kentucky in 1810.

Lydia Ann Shaw was the wife of Harvey Vincent Duggins, the son of Vincent Duggins and his second wife, Elizabeth Carter. Lydia and Harvey were the parents of the following 13 children born in Grayson County:
