PEACEFUL VALLEY - Brenda Kaye Thorn, 55, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002, at her home after a long illness. She was born Sept. 16, 1946, in Itawamba County to Raymond and Earline Brown Smith. She had lived in the Peaceful Valley community for the past 35 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Greenwood Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter and friend.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Gary O'Neal officiating. Burial will be in Keyes Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Wayne Thorn of Peaceful Valley; a son, Eric Thorn and his wife, Kim, of Dorsey; her parents, Raymond and Earline Smith of Fulton; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, W.H. and Mildred Thorn of Peaceful Valley; a special caregiver, Karen Scroggins.
Pallbearers will be David Archie, Bill Burleson, Barry Green, Jim Johnson, Charles Little, Larry Mabus, Dale Martin, Kelly Martin, Larry Moore and Steve Moore.
Honorary pallbearers will be Andy Bean, Lester Brown, Burt Carter, Kirk Cooper, Chris Estes, R.J. King, Marty Langley, Doug Lesley, Jimmy Lucas, Jason Mitchell, Jeff Reeder, Jay Shumpert and Micheal Sullivan.
Visitation will be from 7 a.m. to service time today at the funeral home.
