Funeral services were held this past Friday at the Hopewell Baptist Church for Z.D. Gillentine, prominent farmer of this county with Rev. D.R. Raper, Fulton Baptist minister in charge. He was 67 years old.
Interment was in the Keys Cemetery with Hawkins Funeral Home of Fulton in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Gillentine, a leading farmer of Dorsey, was a lifelong citizen of Itawamba County and one of the most respected citizens of his community. He died at his home on this past Thursday night at 9 o'clock after suffering for more than a year of lukemia.
Mr. Gillentine leaves his wife, Mrs. Pearl Gillentine, one brother, W.E. Gillentine of Fulton and one sister, Mrs. E.N. Lesley o Carruthersville, Mo. He also leaves two daughters, Mrs. Troy Lesley of Dorsey and Mrs L.D. Taylor of Fulton and two sons, Marvin Gillentine and Dewey Gillentine both of Dorsey.
