Mrs. John Horiskey
Mrs. John Horiskey, about 64, Neligh, died Wednesday night at her home following a lingering illness which kept her bedfast several months according to word received bu relatives in Norfolk.
Mrs. Horiskey, whose maiden name was Leafa Mildred Butterfield, was born at Walker, IA., and was about a year old when her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Ed Butterfield, moved to Nebraska and homesteaded in the Walnut vicinity. She was married to Ernest Van Horn, who died sixteen years ago.
After Mr. Van Horn's death, she moved to Verdigre, where nearly thirteen years ago she was married to Mr. Horiskey. They located at Orchard where they operated a grocery until last year. Several months ago they moved from Orchard to Neligh.
Surviving are her husband, who formerly lived at Norfolk; three sons, Edward, Harry and Ralph Van Horn living near Inman; two brothers R.E. Butterfield, Orchard, and Guy Butterfield, Walnut; one sister Mrs. May Cook, Walnut, and six grandchildren. Mrs. William Berner, Norfolk, is a niece.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday morning at 9 o'clock at O'Neil.
