Services Held For Velma Risinger

Funeral services for Mrs. Velma Risnger were held at the United Methodist Church in Orchard on Saturday, Dec. 13 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Alvin Smith officiiant. Burial was at Enterprise Cemetery. Bearers were Thomas Risinger, Arvid Erb, Warren Risinger, Lee Sealer, Larry Oregon and James Risinger. Ashburn Mortuary were in charge of arrangements.

Velma Uphena Risinger, daughter of Franklin and Alice Butterfield was born at Walnut, Nebr. May 25, 1890 and passed away December 11, 1969 at the Lundberg Hospital at Creighton, Nebr.

She was baptized into the United Brethren Church at Walnut, Nebr. She lived all of her life in the Walnut Community.

She was married to the late Reed Risinger and to this union thirteen children were born, a son and a daughter died in infancy, another son Arnold and a daughter Blanche also preceded her in death.

The surviving children are Mrs. Bernard (Mildred) Walters of Northglenn, Colo., Leonard Risinger, Orchard, Mrs. Fritz (Marie) Backer of Bloomfield, Mrs. Arthur (Agnes) Erb, Royal, Franklin Risinger of Bruswick, Mrs. Lawrence (Reba) Oregon of Omaha, Mr. Joyce Risinger of Orchard, Rex Risinger of Center, Rodger Risinger of Canon City, Colo.; one brother Lloyd Butterfield of Orchard; thirty grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 3 sister-in-laws. Alice Risnger, Cecil Allen and Josie Butterfield.

Mrs. Risinger was an active member of the Walnut Ladies Aid and Willing Workers Club for many years.

She and her huband celebrated their fifieth wedding anniversary in 1958. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
