Funeral Held for Mrs. O. A. Cook of Walnut
Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon for Mrs. Orval A. Block of Verdigre, former postmisterss at Walnut. Rites were held at the Sandoz Chapel and St. Paul's Luthern Church near Walnut. Burial was in the Enterprise Cemetery. She passed away December 3 at a Sioux City, Ia., hospital where she had been a patient a short time.
Mrs. Cook operated the post office at Walnut and also a store there, retiring from the postal service Jan. 1, 1957.
Among the survivores are her husband; one daughter, Marcelene Cook of Pender; four sons, Ronald Cook and Alfred Marshall of Verdigre, Maj. Benjamin C. Marshall of Hawaii and Sp 2 Richard C. Cook stationed in Germany; eight grandchildren; four sisters and four brothers.
