Orphaned at age 4. Was taken in by a man and woman that ran a lodging house
for teamsters at age 10. Ran away at age 12. Hooked up with a veterinarian
and became his assistant.
Ordained an Elder 8 April 1843 by Bishop Baker and his counselors Bro. Williams
and Bro. Macahery.
Ordained a Seventy by Joseph Young, George Grant and A.P. Rockwood, 1853.
Sept 25 1866, Samuel and Namcy B. had their endowments in the Endowment House.
January 1889 they did temple work in Manti Temple for his parents and
grandparents, brothers William and Chester, sister Mary Ann and her husband John
Gibson, and William's 4 wives who had all died.
Was a personal friend of Joseph Smith..
