L. Clark Beam, Belmont Street, Waymart, died Wednesday in Wayne County Memorial Hospital after an illness. His widow is the former Ruth Swingle. Born in Jessup, son of the late Garrett and Eleanora Deats Beam, he resided in Waymart most of his life. He was a veteran of World War I and was proprietor of Ladore Farms for 40 years. He was a member of the Waymart Volunteer Fire Co. and American Legion Post 889.
Also surviving are two daughters; Mrs. Michael (Jennie) Bellis, Mrs. Maynard (Thelma) Stratton, both of Waymart; three stepsons; Walter and Warren Beckwith, both of Honesdale; Donald, Waymart; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Henrichsen; Laurel, MD.; a brother, John, Waymart; 18 grandchildren; 21 great grand-children; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. from Herbert E. Jenkins Funeral Home, 269 Belmont St., Waymart, with Rev. Arthur Richner, pastor, Waymart Baptist Church, officiating. Interment, Canaan Corners Cemetery.
Friends may call Saturday 2 to 4, 7 to 9 p.m. American Legion services Saturday at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Waymart Baptist Church.
