WANATAH, Aug. 22.--Mrs. Amelia Emma Eckert, 77, of Wanatah, widow of the late Herman Eckert, died at 10:30 a.m. Sunday in Porter Memorial hospital, Valparaiso, after a three weeks' illness.
The decedent was born in Hanna township, La Porte county, June 11, 1872, daughter of August and Rosanna (Krege) Boldt. She lived in the Wanatah vicinity 43 years.
In December, 1892, she was united in marriage to Herman Eckert in Wanatah. Surviving are one daughter, Miss Ella Eckert, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Tillie Stoltz and Mrs. Bertha Sanders, both of Wanatah. Her husband, one son and one daughter preceded her in death.
Church Member
She was a member of the Salem Evangelical Reformed church of Wanatah; the Ladies' Aid, and Royal Neighbors lodge.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Boehlke funeral home in Wanatah and at 2 p.m. at the Salem Evangelical Reformed church, with the Rev. Melvin Miller officiating. Burial will be in Salem cemetery.
Friends may call at the Boehlke funeral home from 4 p.m. Tuesday and up until time of services.
