In November 1928, he married Doris Hatcher who died April 15, 1982.

Mr. Coover operated a garage in Lewistown for many years. He had worked at Westingthouse Electric Corp. in Lima, was a Star Route mail carrier and a school bus driver for Lewistown School.
He was a member of the Lewistown United Methodist Church and the Washington Local School board serving as president the year the school gymnasium was built.
Graveside services held in Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff with Rev. Max Forsythe, his nephew, officiating.
