OBITUARY.
Carl Henry Balitz was born July 6, 1841, in Romanshof, Germany.
Died unexpectedly Saturday morning, Dec. 9th, 1922, at 7 o'clock, at the age of 81 years, 5 months and 3 days.
He was united in marriage to Miss Johanna Lenz, Nov. 8, 1866, in Germany. They came to America and direct to Wanatah in 1868 and resided here until his death.
The venerable couple celebrated their Golden Jubilee of married life in 1916.
Mr. Balitz had been in failing health the past few years but had become ill of pleurisy but three days when he passed away.
He leaves his wife, 2 sons, Gust, of this place and Fred, of Coffeyville, Kansas, 3 daughters, Miss Pauline Balitz, Mrs. Fred Grieger and Mrs. Will Mohlke, all of this place, (6 children having preceded him in death); 5 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Wm. Balitz, of Syracuse, N. Y., and Mr. Sieske, of Michigan City.
Funeral was held from the Evangelical Salem church Tuesday afternoon, 2 o'clock, Rev. DuVol officiating.
