Mr. Rodriguez was a loving husband and father. He enlisted in the Army from 1961 to 1966. He married his wife of forty-one years, Yolanda, on January 21, 1967. For many years Mr. Rodriguez worked as a self-employed automotive body repair and paint technician. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. During his lifetime he served voluntarily in many different leadership roles. He will always be remembered for his laughter and his dedication and devotion to his family and his church.
Mr. Rodriguez was preceded in death by his father, Honore Rodriguez, his mother, Ofilia Rodriguez, his brother, Raul Rodriguez and his uncle Ysabel (Julia) Barrera.
He is survived by his loving wife, Yolanda Rodriguez of Portland, Texas; three sons: Israel (Sandra) Rodriguez of Corpus Christi, Texas, Armando (Christine) Rodriguez of San Antonio, Texas, and David (Shelly) Rodriguez of Corpus Christi, Texas; three daughters: Levina Rodriguez of West Palm Beach, Florida, Christina (Andrew) Rosebrough of Laie, Hawaii, and Josephina (Denis) Guzman of Washington, D.C.; and six grandchildren: Jonas Scrivens of West Palm Beach, Florida, Ryann E., Erin M. and Megan E. Rodriguez of Corpus Christi, Texas, Aiden C. and Aubrey C. Guzman of Washington, D.C.
He is also survived by six siblings: Eddie (Rosalinda) Rodriguez of Portland, Texas, Honore (Emma) Rodriguez, Jr of Houston, Texas, Ruben (Adelmira) Rodriguez, Sr. of Corpus Christi, Texas, Angelina (Asencion) Gonzales of Corpus Christi, Texas, Janie (Kent) Hall of Tooele, Utah, and Johanna (Manuel Lopez) Flores of Bryan, Texas.
Visitation and a prayer service were held on Monday, June 2nd at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. A funeral service was celebrated on Tuesday, June 3rd at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Portland, TX. Interment followed at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, TX.
Pallbearers: Ruben Rodriguez, Honore Rodriguez, Jr., Asencion Gonzales, Isreal Rodriguez, Armando Rodriguez, and David Rodriguez.
