Charles H. Dutcher was the son of Marvin Dutcher of Onondaga and Livingston Counties, New York and Sarah Orton of Livingston Co., NY. Charles was born in North Dansville, Livingston Co., New York in about 1836, and died in McLean. He was a shoemaker, and was married to Almira Sherwood, the daughter of John and Amy Sherwood of McLean.
They had children: Charles Marvin Dutcher (1860-1935), George Perry Dutcher (1861-1887); Mary E. Dutcher (b. 1864) who married Asa Waite; Helen Almira Dutcher (1866-1925), who married Fred Seamans; Edwin Dutcher (1868-1887); Bell Dutcher (b. 1870); Fred H Dutcher (b. 1872, married Ella Preston and moved to Providence, RI); Merritte W Dutcher (1875-1921); and Amy Dutcher (1880-1921), who married Cornelius Darling and John Patrick Moriarty.
