Obituary published in the Tennessee Baptist, Nashville, Davidson CO, TN on Saturday, March 17, 1860, p. 4, as follows:
Mary T. Romine
Died in McNairy County, Tenn., after an illness of eight months, sister Mary Romaine, in the 59th year of her age.
Sister Romine was born in the State of Georgia, was the daughter of John and Elizabeth Calahan, and was married to Bro. Wm. Romine, Aug. 7th, 1821; was baptized into the fellowship of he Baptist Church in Rogerville, Ala., in 1842, and was a member at the time of her death, of Clear Creek Church, near her late residence.
She leaves a husband and ten children to mourn her absence. She bore her sufferings with Christian patience and resignation, exhorting her family and friends to meet her in heaven.
Thus resigned to the will of her Heavenly Father her angel-like countenance, calm, benignant and radiant with hope, looking to Heaven, bid earth and trouble farewell, went up to rest in her eternal home above. Rest on, thou dear sister, we will join thee in the skies. E. J. Calahan. (Submitted by PPC, FAG member #47065016.)
