John Quincy Grant, 85, of Walton, pioneer Harvey County resident, died Thursday afternoon at Axtell Christian Hospital. He had been hospitalized for three months. Mr. Grant was born Oct. 12, 1872 in Sedalia, Mo., but had spent most of his life in the Walton area. He formerly was employed as a salesman at Lehman Hardware. Mr. Grant was married Dec. 24, 1903 at Sedgwick to Lillie May, whose death occurred May 2, 1948. Mr. Grant was a member of the 1st Christian Church and Modern Woodmen Lodge. Survivors include a son Clifford, of Walton; one half brother, Charles W. Grant of Springfield, Ill., two grandsons and four great grandchildren.
