She was born on April 23, 1911 to John and Hattie (Ames) Jesse in Cloquet. She enjoyed gardening, bingo, and spending time with her family.
Josie was preceded in death by her husband, Peter A.; her brother, August Jesse; and her sisters, Helen McDaniel and Marion Johnson.
She is survived by her children, Burton (Claudette) of Cloquet, Leon (Eileen) of Cloquet, Patricia Dickison of Cloquet and Evelyn (Duane) Putnam of Cloquet; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great- granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 26, 2003 until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Queen of Peace Catholic Church 102 4th Street, Cloquet. Officiant will be Father Joseph Sirba. Pallbearers will be Steve Putnam, David Shotley, Debbie Gassert, Jody Williams, Mary Hintz, Diane Putnam, Karen Wilton, and Leesa RaBenberg. Interment will be in New Calvary Cemetery. A time of fellowship and lunch will follow the Mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Queen of Peace Sunshine Fund. Arrangements by Wefelmeyer-Handevidt
