Rachel Bowden, 93, of Paris died Monday, Dec. 5, 2016, at Morningside Assisted Living of Paris.

Her funeral service was to be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Gary Collier officiating. Burial was to follow at Caledonia Cemetery. Visitation was to be held from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday and after noon Thursday.

Pallbearers for the service were to be Bobby, Steve and Billy Bowden, Damon Nash, Crispin Powley and Bobby Flowers.

She was born July 29, 1923, in Christmasville to the late Fred and Mary Lindell Wilson Prince.

She married Robert "Tip" Bowden May 10, 1941. He preceded her in death Oct. 11, 2000.

She was a retired LPN from Henry County Medical Center and was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church in Henry.

She is survived by a daughter: Patty Powley of Paris; two sons: Jerry Bowden of Henry and Donald Bowden of Paris; nine grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son: David Bowden; a brother; four sisters; and a great grandson: Mac Bowden.
