Richard W. "Rick" DeRita, Sr., age, 63, of 640 South Crawford Road, Hummelstown, PA 17036, died at 11:50 p.m., Monday, May 26, 2008 at St. Joseph's Medical Center, Towson, MD.
He was born January 4, 1945 in Indiana, PA, to Russell and May (Murdick) Clark.
He was the husband of Corinne L. (Orbin) DeRita, whom he married on June 6, 1964.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Richard W. "Rick" DeRita, Jr. of Hummelstown, PA, Carla Dill and husband, Robert J. of Hummelstown, PA; 2 grandsons, Jaratt Dill and Alex Dill, both of Hummelstown, PA; brothers and sisters, Annabelle Lowman, Maryellen Hill, Bill McCurdy, and Ed Bloom, all of Indiana County, PA. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Dee DeRita on August 16, 2000; two sisters, Darlene "Joyce" Boucher and Gloria Richardson.
He was a machinist supervisor at the Belrick Corporation in Swoyersville, PA. Rick was Lutheran by faith, and enjoyed fishing, and doing lawn care while riding his tractor "Johnny".
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at the Baggus Funeral Home in Belleville, with Pastor Ken Wagner officiating. Interment will follow at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Belleville. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m., until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
