BURLESON - Roy Bain, 77, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2001, in Burleson.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at Crosier-Pearson-Mayfield Funeral Home in Burleson. Burial: Peerless Cemetery, Hopkins County. Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Roy was born Feb. 28, 1924, in Hopkins County. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Southwest Pacific during the Korean occupation. He served from Sept. 25, 1943, until Feb. 14, 1946. He was an employee of Bell Helicopter's tooling division from 1952 until 1984. He was a member of Boulevard Baptist Church in Burleson.
Survivors: His wife of 58 years, Eva Nell Bain; sons, Roy Gene Bain and his wife, Debbie, of Venus and Glen Bain and his wife, Hilary, of Burleson; daughters, Shirley Johnson and her husband, Jerry, of Fort Worth, Bobbie Bowles and her husband, Jimmy, of Elkton, Md., and Ronda Mills and her husband, Paul, of Olathe, Kan.; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Billy Joe Bain and G.W. Bain; and sisters, Bonnie Murray, Dortheal Mitchell and Opal Scott.
