DR. L C. OGLE IS KILLED IN CRASH

Etowah Physician’s Funeral Will Be On Tuesday.

ETOWAH, Nov. 10 – Investigation today was being made of a collision of two cars which killed Dr. Luther Curtis Ogle Sunday night.

Dr. Ogle, 52, returning to Etowah from calls in the Chilhowee Mountains, and a Chattanooga car collided on McCroskey Highway.

Funeral services for Dr. Ogle will be held Tuesday at First Baptist Church, the Rev. C. P. Jones of Knoxville officiating. Burial in Greenhill Cemetery. Bender-Everhart in charge.

He had practiced medicine in Etowah for 29 years. He graduated from University of Tennessee Medical School, served as an interne at Knoxville General Hospital, and practiced with a brother, the late Dr. Beecher Ogle, in Knoxville, before coming to Etowah.

Surviving: his wife; three children, Curtis Ogle, a senior at U-T Medical School; Evelyn and William, students at Maryville College; a brother, Otto Ogle, of Knoxville.

ETOWAH, Nov. 11 – Funeral services for Dr. L. C. Ogle, who was killed when his car collided with another on Etowah – Benton highway Sunday night, were held at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church. Burial in Green Hill Cemetery.

Dr. Ogle came to Etowah in 1913, after completing medical school at the old L. M. U. Medical College in Knoxville. He practiced for some time with the late Dr. J. O. Nichols. He was active in social and civic circles. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, Shrine, Knights Templar, represented the Junior Order on the national council, was state Junior Order secretary for a year, served two terms as chairman of Etowah school board and for several years was chairman of McMinn County school board. His father and two of his brothers were doctors. A son, Curtis Ogle, will graduate from U-T Medical College in the spring, and another son, Billy, is taking a pre-medical course at Maryville College.
