July 1, 1892 he took the marriage vows with Louise C. Black of Marion to this union were born five children, one of whom died in infancy. Those who survive his passing are: his sorrowing wife, one daughter, Mrs. Pauline Schwendiman of Canada, Kansas, three sons Leonard of Aulne, Harry and George of Marion, sixteen grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives.
He is gone but not forgotten. The memory of his calm upright life will always abide with his loved ones. May God grant unto them a happy reunion in the better world.
The funeral service was held in the Evangelical Church with Rev. E. H. Dahm officiating, Sunday afternoon, and interment was made in Highland cemetery. (From the Marion County Record, 117 S Third Marion, KS)
