Alma was the daughter of Robert Lee and Clara Mulvenie Davis. Paternal grandparents were Joe and Estelle Davis, maternal grandparents were Myria Elventine (Tiny) and Charles Harvey Davis.

She moved with her family to Augusta, Richmond County, Ga. in the early 1940's and started to work at John P. King Manfacturing Co. where she retired from in 1977.


She married Aubrey Lee Steedley, February 25, 1950.
He was born July 1, 1920.
They had one son Verl.

She was a super cook and loved cooking, but above all else she loved her Lord and family especially her three grandsons, Jordan Lee, Taylor and Eric.

She will always be loved and remembered.


ALBANY, Ga.- Alma Margaret Davis Steedley, 84, died July 21, 2004, at Palmyra Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2004, at 11 a.m. at New Hope Worship Center, Augusta, with Rev. Rich Bowen officiating, assisted by Rev. Bryan Cockrell.

Born in Jesup, Ga., May 20, 1920 to the late Robert Lee Davis and Clara Mulvenie Davis.

She worked as a battery filler at John P. King Manufacturing Company until her retirement in 1977.

She was preceded in death by one brother, James Bedford Davis, and four sisters, Edna Bonham, Alpha Blanton, Tencie Padgett, and Ethel Wilson.

She is survived by her husband, Aubrey Steedley of Sylvester, Ga., one son, Verl Steedley, and his wife Melody, of Sylvester, two brothers, Earl Davis of Augusta, and Peyton Davis and his wife, Virginia of Augusta, two sisters, Lillie Mae Murrah of Grovetown, and Kate McCarty of Evans, three grandchildren, Jordan, Taylor and Eric Steedley, all of Sylvester, and several nieces and nephews.
