Mary B. Strickland of West Chester

Mary B. 'Liz' Strickland, 77, of West Chester, died Monday, Feb. 26, 2007, at Pembrooke Nursing & Rehab in West Goshen.
She was the wife of the late Joseph Strickland Sr.
Born in Little Britain Township, she was the daughter of the late Harry M. and Clara A. Best.
She graduated from West Chester High School and worked for the Bring and Buy Consignment Shop, West Chester, for many years as its bookkeeper.
She is survived by her children, Joseph Strickland Jr. and wife, Lauren of Westport, Conn., Betsy Hickman and husband, Bob of Chadds Ford, John Strickland and wife, Deborah of West Chester, and Margee Webb and husband, Steve of Parkesburg; two sisters, Ada Blank of Denver, Pa., and Nancy Book of Quarryville; and nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brothers, John, Jim and Pete Best; and a sister, Eva Eckert.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, March 3, at the Founds Funeral Home Inc., High and Union streets, West Chester, 610-696-0134, where family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
Interment will be in Oaklands Cemetery.
